Tires BFGoodrich or DUNLOP
We run Falken Wilkpeak A/T3W on my wife’s Yukon and they are great. I had BF Goodrich A/T KO2s on my previous pickup and they were pretty good too. I’ve never owned Toyo tires before, so it’s a bit of a leap of faith, but the preliminary reviews I’m reading about the quality and efficiency of these EV specific all-terrains is promising. They look great!
I’m a KO2 guy though. Off-road performance is unreal. The 10-ply are nearly indestructible. They drive great and mine have always stayed quiet(I know other people haven’t had that experience).
Downside of a KO2 10 ply is they are heavy and sap fuel economy.
KO2s for me have been excellent. They are quieter than the stock Goodyears for me, ride a little better and a ton more capable. Plus after 20k miles they aren’t showing any wear and only down 1/32nd so by that math they’re going to last a very long time.
I took a 1mpg hit going to them but that’s expected.
Bfg KO2s did well for the 4 years I've had them and we had the freezes with iced roads the last 2 years.
If you’re dealing with rough roads and gravel check out the dunlop mutants. I have them on my mt09 and i love them. They handle great in the twist and not afraid to bomb a dirt road. Great tire ill buy again and again
Best bang for your buck is the Dunlop RoadSmart III. You should be able to get 6k+ miles. And they’re plenty sticky enough for spirited riding in all but expert track conditions.
running KO2s on my FJ but like others are saying theyre not good when it rains. tried toyo at3 on my gx and i think theyre better on-road but they only lasted me couple years. i dont know.. i switched to hankoook dynapro extreme. i find the hankook more quiet than the toyos. very good onroad manners and wet traction
Ko2 = great on rocks and most trails. Pretty bad if the trail will get muddy and clog up the tread blocks. <10k miles relatively quiet. 10k-40k loud Nearly indestructible though even with lots of sharp rocks. Neve punctured one. Lots of balancing problems. Thank 4wheelparts for free rotate and balance. AT3W= Similar experience in most terrain. Maybe mildly better on packed snow but id say it's a wash. Quieter over all for highway driving mine have about 30k on them now.
Overall experience with the stock tires was great at first then after 4-5 months I couldn’t bear them. They did alright in the snow and ice but i was also super careful and it doesn’t snow bad where I live.
They came stock on my 2012 Taco. I hated them. They were excellent at getting stuck in mud and losing traction in the rain.
