Haven't done a super long road trip in my MK8.5 - but have done a few 200mi trips. The car absolutely eats up the miles. Seats are super comfortable, cabin noise is tolerable, and I averaged 34MPG both ways cruising between 72 and 80. I personally despise adaptative cruise control, so I immediately turned it off (aggressive Boston traffic makes it unbearable). I did keep the lane assist on which is fine, not as good as the lane keep in my Raptor, but works very well. I'm more than happy with the ride, and once I get on to some smooth pavement, the 200 treadwear tires really quiet down.

Pros: seats super comfortable
Cons: lane assist not great

I’ve had the BFG KO2’s since I bought the car. I’m now at about 85k miles and the tires are still holding up with 99% highway driving. They’re great in the sand tho also. I highly recommend them.

Pros: great in sand, holding up
Cons: loud on the road
Mileage: 136794 km

I have since tuned my GTI and installed summer tires, it has only further cemented my decision. Now the car pulls harder but you still have to work with the car to put the power to ground.

Pros: car pulls harder
Cons: work with the car
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Ive been running KO2s for years and my most recent set is the KO3. I like them. They handle well on the road amd in the dirt, aren't loud at all, and last a decent amount.

Pros: handle well on road
Cons: aren't loud at all

I am a huge fan of my BF Goodrich ko2. The rigid sidewall helps with the rear end sway and load stability and the higher PSI reduces temperature from the sidewall under load as well. They have been excellent on-road, off-road, and snow. The only thing I will say is that at higher pressure in the tire I feel everything on the road.

Pros: excellent on/off road, load stability
Cons: feel everything on road

I’m just about to replace my KO2 265/70r17s. I put them on in 2018 and have 62,000 miles on them. They have been great - just avoid mud but that goes for all AT tires. Over the last year they got louder on highway and wet traction sucks right now due to wear.

Pros: great, long lasting
Cons: loud, bad wet traction
Mileage: 62000 km

Only have experience with the KO2s. They’re overpriced and get quite loud as they wear and sometimes have balancing issues, especially as they wear down. But I’ll be damned they last forever.

Pros: last forever
Cons: overpriced, balancing issues

Long ago my first new set of tires were BFG Trail T/A in 33/12.50/15 for my old IH. With less than 5k miles sidewall deteriorated on one tire. Another on opposite corner broke or slipped a belt.

Cons: sidewall deteriorated
Mileage: 5000 km

My worst were Bfg km2s. I have loved every Bfg tire I’ve had, but I got a set of km2s and got rid of them in 6 months. The wear life was bad, they were loud as hell, and they didn’t have a comfortable ride.

Cons: bad wear life, loud
