Tires BRIDGESTONE or Barum
I've experienced the Bridgestones on my Volvo for nearly two years, and am fairly impressed with their performance... for an all-season. Dry grip is great and treadwear is respectable.
Other than that I was happy with the tire. Ran it on a '97 Jetta (in NW PA).
Here's what a 245/40-17 Bridgestone RE11 looks like after 18mths on the R - over 200 autox runs and 8k street miles. I run 40-44 PSI hot on a well setup car. Note that there's minimal indication of excessive scrub or rollover. These tires are wearing great and were good enough for top pax time in a 60 car field at a recent local event
I just bought a used VW and i had to put new tires on it already, someone at a dealer told me to go with the BARIUM Bravuris 2 (All Season tire) on mine 215/40/17" and with 10k+miles so far so good, very quiet, they seem to work better then most brands i know.
I just put on Bridgestone RE760 Sport's on my car about 250km's ago. I was looking for exactly what you are, good treadlife and good all-around performance for the occasional track day... I cannot say enough good things about this tire, it meets and exceeds all expectations that i have had thus far; and with 340 treadwear i expect these 205/40's to last for a good amount of time. You can't go wrong with this tire!
As far as the Bridgestone tires, I have ran them for 2 years and they have been an excellent all season tire. They do everything well and easily beat the factory tires.
I have the Revo 1s on my Subaru Outback, and feel that they are great winter tires. And I can assure you, we have real winter here in the Minnesnowta area!
The Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza have done everything perfectly for me so far. They have been a very good tire. Perhaps a B+ or a A-.
I had the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus on my vw cc and very noisy and the car didn't drive straight the tire store replaced the with Bridgestone Potenza RE970 AS Pole Position which are ok.
Our egg came with Wranglers. They were so noisy and rode so harshly that I replaced them with Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas at 800 miles. Love the new Bridgestones!
