Tires BRIDGESTONE or DEXTER
I've put Blizzaks on all of my vehicles, including my '24 Kona. They are fantastic studless snow tires.
I've run the Bridgestone weather peaks on my FWD accord in 2 winters, they worked great. Did some insanely sketchy stuff and never felt like I was out of control.
I have gone from the Bridgestone Turansa All Season 6 and they have been great so far and a bit cheaper than the Michelins.
One recent set of tires (Bridgestone Potenza Sports - AMAZING!) less than a year ago, new brakes all around approximately 6 months ago.
I had both the Turanza EL440 and those exact Firehawk tires. The Turanza I had would have lasted maybe 55k or 60k if it wasn't for me getting one damaged from a road hazard.
I've always gone Blizzaks. They have been a phenomenal tire when it comes to driving in blizzard like conditions. Hell I was going 70 during a blizzard on a freeway when I had my cobalt in high school with blizzaks.... probably not the best decision back then, but they got my younger self home at the end of the day while many others were in the ditch.
I've been running 225/45-17 Blizzak WS90 since 2020. I'll be putting that same set on again this winter. They have been amazing and I'll probably buy another set when these age out. Edit: this period included a 2300 mile roadtrip across the northern US in early 2021 when we were having a crazy blizzard across the northern plains.
have some re003s on mine, but i’ve noticed they can get a little squealy off the line, even while dry
I had blizzaks for a few seasons after a set of very good dunlops. I was severely dissatisfied in the e blizzak performance. Not only did they wear quickly but they were awful in the snow and dry. We have X-ices on the Tiguan and they are far superior to the blizzaks.
I have a ‘99 Fireblade with a 16” front wheel rather than the 17” which is normal now. It is more likely to shake its head when going over a bump, banked over at high speed. It is also difficult or impossible to recover from a front wheel slide which would be recoverable on other bikes.
