Tires Continental or Firestone
Continental Tire for the win!
Continental ice contact XTRM is absolutely fantastic if you have a Tirecraft near you I believe it is sold there. I have the studded versions and they are amazing.
All four are solid choices. I’d go with the Contis over the other 3 though. Outstanding tire.
The vikingcontact are a top tier tire, but the falken are not far behind. If your budget is limited the falken is a solid option
2013 cooper s bought new. Came with conti all season runflats, couldn't put down power. No grip. Harsh.
Not a month later went to Michelin A/S pilot sport all-seasons.. better, but still couldn't mash the gas coming out of a corner.
5 years later went to the ones I still run today, the Firestone Indy 500. Posh ride, great grip, and I can put full power in 2nd coming out of a corner. Behaves identical to the Yokohama S.Drives I used to have on my Rx-8. Where I live it doesn't even get down to 45\*F so I don't worry about all-seasons anymore. These do magnificent in the wet, too.
After having tyre wall damage to my Hankook run-flats, thought of switching to radials for better durability & ride comfort. Such a great decision, indeed! I finalized with Continental UC6 87V.
I got firestone firehawk as v2 from costco, i don't regret buying it as i can take corner really fast and good tread wear after 17k miles
Firestones will have the best handling characteristics of the 3 options for spirited driving. Michelens the worst.
Fuck the Maxxis Taxxes. I'm still waiting on a pair of Continental Kryptotal F's for $42 each from Jenson.
I changed tires once, and only once, at Walmart. Everything was awful. The staff were a bunch of untrained amateurs who were impatient and didn\u2019t get the wheel balance right. The car was drivable at 60-80 kph, but it noticeably started to shake at 100 kph (60 mph) on the highway. The Firestones were so incredibly noisy I could barely wait to replace them again.
