Tires Continental or Goodyear
The PS4S is a good summer street tire. Its competitor is going to be the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02. Both are great tires.
30,000. Swapped for continental crosscontact lx25
35k and so many punctures later… I put Goodyear Wrangler A/T’s on mine. We’ve had them on all our trucks and SUV’s. Overkill for a crossover, but they ride great and keep me very secure on road and the like very mild “off-roading” I do
On my last RAV4 I went with Continental Cross Contact, those were great as well.
I replaced them with Continentals. I love Continentals. I’ve always had great luck with them on my Audis, which tended to chew up tires in short order.
I previously had the Michelin PS4S and the noise and ride were pretty good, noise was most noticeable on concrete roads. In December I changed to the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 and they are quieter and ride better than the PS4S, ride quality is actually pretty damn nice in normal mode and almost luxury like in comfort.
Can’t go wrong with the Conti. We have the American version on both a 718 and GTI and work very well in dry/wet.
The F1A6 is generally praised for its well-rounded performance, offering a good balance of grip (especially wet braking), handling, and a relatively quiet ride. It also tends to be more affordable than some of the top-tier performance tires.
I also have inductions with the F1s. I had a tire patched at Discount Tire at 4k miles, they measured them at 7/32 and told me I’d need new tires soon. I have the same tires still at 27k and they are at 6/32 left, mostly highway mileage though.
Years ago I bought the lowest end Goodyear tire because i thought if they were going to throw their name on it that they would have at least a medium level of quality. They were absolutely awful. Driving on them on dry pavement was like driving on rain and on rain on ice.
