Tires Continental or GT Radial
once I switched to continental GP2000 S TR tires my times got waaaay faster plus I haven\u2019t a puncture since.
I used tubeless 700x32 GP5000 AS TR all last year (and will again this year) and aside from the price, I have no complaints. The roads around here are always covered in trash... broken glass, chunks of metal, whatever. No significant punctures even though I definitely ran over some of that crap. I feel like they wore down a bit faster than the GP Four Seasons I ran for several years before that, though.
Switched to 195/55r20 all round on my wife’s i3s. They fit perfect, the front 5j is just enough for proper fitting. Car felt more composed and comfortable afterwards and so much more choice in that size. Running the Continental AllSeasonContact2 which suits our conditions here in Ireland.
Continental extreme contact dws. Best tires ever.
I personally like **Continental Ultracontact** for silent run for a non EV TIRE.
I swapped my bridge stones with Continental DWS06+ and it transformed the car. Ultimately I wanted to just get Summers since it never snows here and I never drive in snow,, but I am on a square set up (non m sport) and the continental were still better than the summer options that I had.
My M40i has the dedicated winters, Conti VikingContact 8 snow & ice tires. Went smaller width than stock, tire diameter is within 2% 235/55-R19. Non RF of course. About $1100 mounted, balanced, and storage of my all-season tires.
I’ve had both Blizzaks and Continental Vikingcontact on our vans. Both have been great. The Continentals are a little quieter on bare pavement, which is why I got them.
Just fine in Chicago weather with dsw06+, it’s not amazing but it will handle most conditions including ice if your not a moron.
The stock and subsequent 20" Conti Pro Contact sucked. I went thru so many tire hitting a smallish pothole at various speeds at on/off ramps, side streets, highways, turns, etc. I would get a bubble every time.
