Tires Continental or Hifly
i went from shitty $70 westlakes on my crown vic, to $230 a piece continental dws06+. felt like a completely different car and handles so much better.
I bought conti extreme contacts for my last set about 2 years ago,and i will only be buying conti extreme contacts from now on.
Upgrading from the stock tires to GP5000's will make much, much more of a difference than the wheelset upgrade.
I have the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus tires on my SHO and absolutely love them. So far I have not had any issues with the lighter snows we have had here in northern Virginia.
You would be better off choosing Continentals ControlContact or Falkens Pro G5
Continental Premiumcontact 6 on my 2021 hybrid. Quite pricy but quiet and feel very safe and I had some emergency braking situations on a wet road. After 5k miles I'm still happy about this choice.
I'm very happy with the Continental Viking Contact 7 snow tires, they are surprisingly quiet on dry roads.
Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02s are a bargain for a flagship summer tire that's excellent in the rain. I have them on my Si and run them daily and for autocross. While not as as sticky as a 200TW summer tire, they are really great in dry or wet conditions, and reasonably priced. I also had DWS06+ on my previous daily, a 2013 328i, and I liked those too.
Haven't used them in the snow yet but Discount Tire will match Walmart's $146.00 price on the 235/50/17 Continental Pure Contacts. I've had really good luck with Continentals on my Edge, Taurus and Fusions. They've been OK in Michigan winters but nothing spectacular.
I am still not impressed with these tires. I'm just about to hit 14k miles on these tires and they are some of the worst tires I've had. Definitely going to replace them before winter. We average 6-8 inches of snow every winter and these tires are like race slicks in the snow.
