Tires Continental or KENDA
Lots of people have mentioned gp5k, which are very fast, but continental also sells "all seasons" tires which are kind of best of both worlds between gp5k and gatorskin. Not quite as fast as 5k, not quite as much protection as gatorskin, but very close on both counts.
Continental tires are a bitch to take off and put on. Otherwise, I do stand by their durability and reliability. They're great tires, Gatorskin or not!
Continental 4 Season is all I roll with due to surviving a rough +300km cycle with raw thread already exposed due to a severe break on rough ground and glass. Tough, grippy, all weather.
I switched to 5000's a while back and haven't regretted it. They definitely roll faster and corner better.
I run Conti gp 5000 AS TR and do like them a lot. They have quite allright puncture protection and run very good while still having very good grip even in wet conditions
They are actually a really solid tire in this category, not as good as the Continentals which are some of the best in their category of UHP all-season tires, but they come pretty close...
Gonna go with GP5Ks. Best optimization of any tire out there IMHO.
I replaced my OEMs with Conti Extreme Contacts DSW06s and I find them quieter than the pricier EV tires. Plus they stick like glue. Seriously can’t get a squeak out of them.
I was a loyal GP4000/5000 rider but had to switch a few years back. I think they changed something and it not only became harder to mount them, but it was impossible to break the bead and remove them. I switched to Vittorias but really miss the feel of the GPs. I feel much more confident descending on them.
One of ours was constantly losing pressure, none of the other three ever needed more air, but the same one was constantly dipping under 30 - never went lower than 24 though.
