Tires Continental or OEM Honda
Continental is the best, but expensive.
What started as a quick tune up turned into a full retro mod rebuild of my 2005 Trek 1500 USPS Edition and I honestly cannot believe how good this bike rides now. Early 2000s aluminum race frame with completely modern performance. It feels fast, alive, and razor sharp in corners.
Continetal DWS 06+ have some fantastic reviews on Tire Rack. I just put some on our "beater", a 2013 1 Series, 6MT.
Conti 4 Season are my favorite. They have a good mix of durability, comfort, puncture resistance, and grip.
I'm using the Continental Sport 02 in 205/50/15, 3 season daily with autocross events. No complaints, plenty of grip dry or wet. Very confidence inspiring tire.
I'm out of Chicagoland (close enough to you) and I rock Continental control contact tires. Best thing in the world for all seasons in the snow. Great in our stupid rain too. You really feel nice and planted in them.
I may go with Continental once I need new tires.
Tires are everything. They are the only part of your bike that touches the ground and they make the biggest difference in rolling resistance and comfort.
I run 315/30/18 ECF on my C5 base. I’m about 30 cycles in and they’re starting to die. They’re a good tire that gets up to temp pretty quick and last the whole session. That being said, they aren’t worlds grippier than the 275 conti ecs i replaced.
Worse stock tire -> we've got Continental EcoContact 6.
