Tires Continental or SUNNY
I run Conti gp 5000 AS TR and do like them a lot. They have quite allright puncture protection and run very good while still having very good grip even in wet conditions
They are actually a really solid tire in this category, not as good as the Continentals which are some of the best in their category of UHP all-season tires, but they come pretty close...
Gonna go with GP5Ks. Best optimization of any tire out there IMHO.
I replaced my OEMs with Conti Extreme Contacts DSW06s and I find them quieter than the pricier EV tires. Plus they stick like glue. Seriously can’t get a squeak out of them.
Continental extreme contact all season. Had them on my old car(civic type r).They were great! They are great on this car too! It’s faster, corners better, and doesn’t slide in rain.
I didn’t realize how much of an impact good tires really made on the driving experience until I upgraded to Conti ExtremeContact DWS’s. Everything about the Contis is significantly better than the LS-2’s. Grip in all conditions was vastly improved.
Putting a set of 225 DWS06 Plus rubber on my 23 Sport M6 made enough of an improvement to satisfy me. The stock tires aren't very good imo.
Check out Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 for slightly more money, non-directional so it can be rotated, substantially better quality and performance all with a mileage warranty.
I have had the best luck w/ Michelin Pilot Sports or Super sports. I have had several sets of the Continental Sport Contacts on different cars including the Golf R and they seem to wear out early with noise and balance problems sooner than I would expect. I have never had a set last more than 20K miles before the tread was gone and/or they start having noise/balance issues. They are GREAT tires up until that point, but they don't last anywhere near their published treadlife rating.
I do not recommend Continental sport contacts in serious wet weather, they aqua plane in water the Bridgestones don't even notice.
