Tires GISLAVED or GENERAL TIRE
They are a great winter tire I run them on my yj and I’ve been through over 3 feet to snow with them on but they tend to clog up in thick mud
I have these tires on my xj and I love them. Really good on and off road, however are a softer tire than the ko2 so might not get as much life out of them.
Right now I'm running [General Tire Altimax R43s](http://generaltire.com/tires/passenger-and-minivan/altimax-rt43). Most people aren't familiar with General, even if they are one of the oldest tire companies out there.
Commute was great. These tires are amazing. They're called "Gislaved Nordfrost 200's" if you're wondering, I believe they run for around $1,400cdn for the 18" size I have, but would be cheaper for smaller sizes.
I run grabber at2s on my Wrangler. 35x12.5x15. Weight was actually a major factor in going that route. After checking all the competitor weights the grabbers are the lightest. They are also modeled very similar to The BFG ats and they perform excellently on road and snow. I use my Jeep for daily driving in Michigan and sand dunes/two tracks on the weekend and I have zero complaints.
Bought General Altimax R12s. Tig does great in the snow. My front sensors also go berserk during the snow. Nuisance, but nothing that bothers me too much.
Ill throw another one in here, I have used general altimax arctic tires on my e30 for about 5 years now and love them. Im down in PA, USA but have managed through 8 inches of snow in my car and they lasted me about 3 winters (plus one summer cause I was lazy).
BUT the General RT43s are cheaper, long life, and offer better performance.
Blizzaks and X-Ice are great tires but rather expensive, there are some great cheaper alternatives (General Tire Altimax Arctic)
I highly recommend General Altimax Arctic.
