Tires Hankook or BFGoodrich
I have been really happy with my BFG HD Terrains. Picked them up from eBay as a set of takeoffs in practically new condition. Great on and off road.
I have 70k on them and probably another 5k to go but I do have 5 tires total in rotation. The K02s are pretty quiet on road and perform well enough when offroading in the Sierras. Almost zero time in snow though.
I’m now a few thousand miles into a set of K03’s. The K03 solved all of the negative K02 issues and surpassed the AT3W. I’m very happy.
Bfg trail Terrains. I’ve got them on my Explorer timberline when I replaced the duelers that came on it. They are great for the off-roading I do down forest service roads/etc and in snow. They are also way quieter than the duelers.
Love the BF Goodrich trail terrain for my suv. Has about 90k miles on them
I run 285 75 16 KO3s as an all season, do all tire. They're great in anything aside from mud. Great in deep dry snow, decent with ice or slush. Relatively quiet highway driving and comfortable.
Hankook rs4 will hold up but not be super fast at the autox. But the tread will outlive the heat cycling.
I drove them on the streets for a couple of years. The noises are present like the others said, but not terrible after a while. The main thing for me was, they’d hydroplane on every puddle, making it a bit sketchy in the rain.
with the balancing issues on the KO3 I decided to switch it up this year.
BF Goodrich A/T are - IMO - dangerous on wet tarmac. Not bad, dangerous. I have 2 UAZ Hunter cars... On BFG during just 4kkm already had a few very bad slips in curves and a collision, when I could not stop the car in a traffic jam on 2nd gear (ABS grinding like on ice... In may!). Not to mention the previous owner slipped and hit a tree on these. Same cars, same driver. BFG are very bad on wet road and I mean real bad... Dangerous.
