Tires Hankook or BRIDGESTONE
The best overall tire I have run is the Hankook MT2. I have 60,000mi on a set right now. I would buy them over and over again if I could. They handle great, ate very good offroad, wear very evenly, and don't get louder as they wear down.
Buy hankook, I switch from michelin and is the same, very good quality
I have blizzaks they are amazing
Mine are quiet (but then, im comparing to a corolla on 19's...)
I eventually chose Turanza EV tires, which cost $1433 installed at Discount Tires in Portland, OR.
The Turanzas did not get off to a good start with me because they were inefficient: I was getting about 310 Wh/m. I called D Tires to discuss them and their sales guy said to drive them for 1k miles to break them in and then re-consider whether I was happy with my purchase.
I followed this advice which turned out to be good advice. At 1K miles, the Wh/m has dropped to about 280 Wh/M. The noise level from the tires has all but disappeared. These guys are quiet. The quality of the ride is just what I like: firm but not harsh.
Very pleased with the road noise and efficiency of the Hankook.
Ride is definitely quieter compared to my oems.
For those who are interested, I had the Hankook ION Evo (Summer) tires installed to replace the stock Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) Elect tires on my Tesla Model 3 Performance ('22). There are pros and cons compared to the stock Pirelli tires, in my opinion:
Pros:
- Quieter (especially on highways)
- More comfortable (damping on uneven road surfaces, but uneven road surfaces also less noticeable in the steering)
- Better grip in rain and wet conditions
- Slightly lighter steering feel
- Slightly easier full acceleration straight of the line
- More efficient (+/- 1% less battery consumption per trip)
Cons:
- Steering feel and response are less direct
- Grip during hard cornering is not great (at least, the limit is simply lower than with the Pirellis)
- Overall sportiness is diminished
Only experience with OE Hancocks was on a VW Passat. Took delivery on new car and drove home from the dealer in a snow storm and it was the most severe case of white knuckle syndrome ever. The car was absolutely dangerous and scary.
That's why we call them Hancraps. One of the worst factory tires period from anyone in this day and age. Came on my 19 Platinum FX4, AT2 or ATM whatever model it was. Horrible, by far, worst wet weather traction
