Tires MICHELIN or GENERAL TIRE
I recently bought a set of the "discount" special deal Michelin tires for the wife's car and the part number and SKU were identical to the ones I could buy at Discount Tire, Tire Rack, Firestone, or any other tire installer.
I have a set of Pilot Sport A/S 3s from Costco and have detected no cost cutting. They are awesome.
I couldn't stand the Contisport 5P runflat tyres and got rid of them with 4mm of tread on them. I got Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s and I can really recommend them. Before I fitted them I tried a simple brake tests from 70mph and then again(same weather conditions) after I fitted the tyres and they had covered a few hundred miles and the car stopped between 30 and 40ft quicker each time. The ABS hardly if at all kick in. As for cornering, well you can guess I'm impressed with them. Okay they only come with 5mm of tread but they are worth it. To give you an idea how good they are, they have more grip in the wet (very wet) than the Conti tyres had in the dry.
Stick with Michelin. They are the best.
I have gunmetal colored Nuespeed RSe07 18\" w/ Michelin PSS on my blue R & love them. Excellent steering feel, responsive, suspension feels very happy w/ the new shoes
Currently running Michelin Defenders and am very pleased.
The Michelins I have on my Truck are LRR. They ride better, handle better and steer better than the previous Dunlops. Fuel Economy has been exactly the same, terrible.
check out General Altimax Arctic tires, Im on my 3rd season and they have plenty of life left to them and made my E30 a champ in the snow.
2015 GTi - Unitronic Stage 1+, Wagner IC, MST TIP and hose, Oline Road and Track/Vorshlag camber plates, Wavetrac LSD, Sachs RSE Clutch, 034 stiffer upper rear mount, 034 rear adjustable camber and toe links, rear Aurora trailing arm bushing, 034 forged lower front control arms, 034 22.2 adjustable rear swaybar, H&R front adjustable swaybar, Tyrolsport front and rear Deadset Kit, Cryo Stoptech slotted rotors with Isweep 3000 short track pads front, Stoptech slotted rotors and Isweep 3000 pads rear, SS brake lines, Neuspeed RSe12 wheels with Michelin Pilot 4S tires
I ended up getting the Michelins at Costco on sale for a great price. I love them so far, will have to see how they are in the rain/snow
