Never cheap out on tires. I just ordered Pilot Aplin Pa4's on the stock size for my turbo they were $266 i believe on PMCtire.com (which I find to be the best online tire shop here in Canada. Free shipping!). You get what you pay for generally for tires.
I did the same thing with mine about 1.5 years ago. I went to America’s Tire and they called Michelin and did the discount. Went with Michelin Crossclimates on mine. Solid tires!
The CrossClimate2 is nice for snow, but they come with a bit more noise than their all weather tires. I use them as winter only tires.
The Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4’s are the best all season tires they have right now. Great in summer and snow but pricey.
Michelin has excellent customer service. When we got our first model 3, we noticed two tires with bulges. We changed them thru Tesla service and they deemed them defective. They sent a check for the full amount of the new tires.
I did switch to new 18 inch wheels with 235/40 michelin AS/3 tires and it's absolutely perfect for me now.
But, spent most of the summer in Phoenix, AZ and took a road trip from Des Moines, IA to Phx on them in both sweltering 110°+ heat, and torrential downpours and they are freaking amazing.
Better ride, and quieter than stock, and I’ve personally noticed zero difference in handling.
Always Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 and nothing else.
Michelin last the longest, so you save money.
I got the CrossClimate + 2 weeks ago. First few days I couldn’t really notice a difference. After 2 weeks and driving more, they’re definitely louder and less efficient.
