Tires MICHELIN or NANKANG
CC2 is a great choice! Have had them on a few different Subaru’s. If you’re in Idaho as your name would allude, you’ll love them! Rolling resistance is good. For context, my new 2026 Limited XT Outback is averaging just over 25.5 mpg with them on. Car is still going through break in too. Also have worn them through the summers on my old Outback and have gone to numerous trailheads and such.
I’m on my second AWD car with CC2s. Subaru Impreza wagon and a Hyundai AWD Ioniq5. Pros are great snow & wet handling and braking & adequate dry handling combined with lower rolling resistance than most for better mileage.
I went with the 255/40R20 Michelin CC2 - mostly based on all-weather capability (had them on a previous SUV) and the longer treadwear warranty which I needed based on my requirement of being able to get two winter seasons out of them before hitting 6/32 of tread remaining.
Stock tires are crap, Michelin Cross Climate is the best.
Subaru. I have difficulty breaking traction in a crosstrek sport (2.5l) with Michelin CC2 tires in light snow. I can’t see how anything could be better.
Getting 17k miles out of tires on an X7 is honestly *great*. Most are shot by 10-12k.
Running Michelin X-Ice Snow now. Also good and well respected. Wearing a bit better. They handle better than the Blizzaks as well. Can recommend.
Michelin City Extra po, maganda wet & dry condition saka durable din. Stick to stock size.
I’m a novice driver that has a total of 3 HPDE days on this set of tires. 2000 S2000, Nankang AR1 255 rear and 225 front. I had it aligned last year, with 1/4” toe in as per specs and most recommendations for the AP1 S2K. As you can see, my front tires have minimal wear compared to the rears. On track the lack of rear grip vs front is quite noticeable. There isn’t any wheel spin out of corners, the rear is just loose and twitchy in mid-high speed corners. I’m wondering if that’s why the rear wear is so much higher.
I don’t drive my Mini much, sub 100 miles a year. I had Nankangs but they started to split after 18 months. Not sure if lack of movement didn’t help but it was annoying.
