Tires MICHELIN or NITTO
I just put PS4's on to replace my stock Continentals and I love them. I've gone towards a few other brand choices with some previous cars and always hated myself for not getting Michelins. The PS4's are so quiet I can actually hear my brake pads now and I couldn't before due to the rolling road noise from the Continentals.
I have about 2k miles on some PS4s. Most of that is windy backroads. There is no comparison with the stock Contis. These things grip with no drama, ride smoother and quieter. They grip so well, that the body of the car leans on turns when it felt flat on the Contis.
Running Pilot Sport Cup 2s here on track - huge fan so far!
Good Info Thanks for the info on this thread, I ordered 245/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires for my 2015 S3 with Magnetic Ride and ECS Tuning flush spacer kit. I'll post pictures of how they fit after they get installed tomorrow. Tires are the best mod, I can't wait to be off these Continentals
For real life treadwear experience, all I can tell you is I have done 20000KMs, 7 track days, and about 10 autocrosses on my PSS on my e36 m3 and I'd bet I have 60% tread left.
I've been happy with the Michelin Pilot 3S all-seasons (I think that's the name), pretty quiet for an ultra high performance all season.
235 40 18 tires on stock 18x7.5 wheels
Yes, i noticed a difference, but not drastic.
I'm running Nitto NT450s, 205/40/16 on an 8.5" wheel, but they're about bald. So I've ordered a set of Neo-Gens in the same size, they should be here before the weekend. Jason from 4everkustomz in Reamstown is mounting them.
Honestly, the Michelins are generally more recommended here over the Conti's... and after 35k on my 99, the best thing I ever did was get rid of the frickin Michelins, and replaced 'em with Bridgestone Potenza's... SOOOO much better wet traction
