Tires MICHELIN or TIGAR
Get studless Michelin or Continental.
I’ve got the Michelin X-Ice without studs. Good grip and quiet - can happily recommend them as an alternative to Nokians.
You will get your monies worth with the defender 2 tires over the course of driving 100,000+ km with them versus any other none Michelin tire.
Michelin had a slight edge on wet and dry asphalt. Michelin wasn't far off from the Nokia on the ice and snow performance either and also wasn't making as much noise.
I've got michelin x ice, pretty happy about them
I put a set on my Dodge 2500 Cummins and towed 13000 across Texas and over Raton pass. No visible wear. The truck drowns out any tire noise so cant comment on that.
Dirt roads and light snow no issues.
I wore them in my old Honda Civic Type R EP3 going in mountain pass spirited drive and the behaviour and grip was good. Never a bad reaction or scary. Obviously in wet you have to be prudent because these arent a Michelin Pilot.
I just put Michelin ePrimacy all season EV tires on my Model Y. They are more efficient than the OEM Continentals and should last longer.
I am not disputing that RWD is better than FWD during acceleration or climbing a hill on a car with 50:50 weight distribution and I did say that I had a hard time putting the power down with only 120hp in my e-Golf. This being said, on the move, I am not sure that RWD would be better for changing direction without immediate oversteer (fun at low speed, no so much on the highway).
Salut.
