Tires MICHELIN or Vredestein
I’ve had very good luck with X-Ice over the years.
The Michelin PA5 is also an excellent tire.
Michelin Cross Climate 2 on my 09 Impreza sedan. Road noise is better than the winters I had, but I’ve heard they’re kinda noisy to some people. Wet and dry performance, especially in the hotter months is significantly better than my winter tires, and I feel much more connected to the road. Spirited drives on twisty backroads feel much better. In snow storms, starting/stopping feels amazing, like the snow isn’t even there, and I’ve never had an issue pulling through 5+ inches of snow. Making light and smooth turns has also been very good. However, I find it much easier to break traction compared to my previous winter tires if you’re being reckless, and it's harder to regain. Aggressive 90-degree downhill turns can make the back end step out. There's also a reported 1-3 mpg hit. Despite this, I would most likely buy them again.
Michelin cross climate 2’s on my 2016 Impreza sport hatch 5mt. I’ve had them for about a year and a half in central PA and they’ve treated me very well. They’re awesome in snow and the tread life has been good so far. They’re a little more noisy on the highway, but I definitely feel more comfortable driving the car in bad weather over my Jeep, unless the snow fall is over like 8 inches. Michelin cross climate 2 gets my vote!
Vredestein Hypertrac AS. They are an all season performance tire. Drove in all sorts of ice and snow last winter including driving up my mountain of a driveway. They are quiet, handle great and superb in the rain. My subie is a little snow machine, it is pretty amazing.
Michelin Cross Climate 2. I don't feel the need to run dedicated snowies but the CC2s have been fantastic.
I have a set on my Mach 1 and they’re great. People say they’re “noisy” but I don’t really hear it…If they are it’s drowned out by my exhaust and I can’t tell ????
I have the Pilots right now, second set, I love these tires. I can brake a lot later going into turns, carry more speed through the apex and roll back on the gas quicker and not worry about breaking loose.
Came with Hankooks Ventus S1 Evo 3. My previous car I was running Michelin Cup 2's and while definitely more grip they didn't last very long.
The Defender IIs aren't like the Defender LTXs that I had 2 sets of previously. These new ones were unacceptably noisy and rough riding.
