Tires Nexen or BFGoodrich
Ever since that, got some KO2s and can drive confidently in snow all day long.
For what it's worth , I run the 245x40x18 BFGoodrich g-force on my GTI. They fit fine on the stock wheel, they don't rub, speedo is off by like 2mph.
Tires I went with BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S when I replaced the OEM rubber. They work very well in the dry and wet. I change to Blizzak's for winter time.
One tyre brand I highly recommend which is cheap but performs pretty well is NEXEN
Gona have to second the KO2 good in snow, mud, dirt, slick rock, quiet in pavement, look aggressive, priced well, and you can put a lot of miles on them.
I have only used their previous version, Winguard Sports. Can't complain about them. They are a performance winter, so snow and ice won't be as good as a Xice Xi3, blizzak ws-80 or Hakkapeliitta tire
I've only used the original winguard sports. Can't complain for the price and it's purpose. They never let me down in a blizzard...
I had a set of those in 31x10.5x15. I really liked them. I kept the pressures around 25-27 psi had them for almost 30k miles.
I've sold a ton of Nexen tires and used them on all my loaner cars. I never buy the N5000's though. I stick to the Classe Premier line so CP641 and CP672 tires. I use them on my mother in law's Jetta and I have the Nexen Rodian HP on my Wife's MB R350. Decent tires. Not the best but for the price, they work very well.
And out of all the tires I've ever purchased, Bridgestone/Firestones have been the worst ( only exception were the FR710s on my Aura.) Followed by the garbage Nexens I had on the Optima.
