Tires NITTO or Vredestein
On my third set of Ridge Grapplers. They are the perfect tire in my opinion. Quiet, comfortable, long tread life and great in all weather conditions.
Ridge grapplers are surprisingly quiet on the highway. I'm on my second set after getting about 80k miles out of the last set. Great tires and I've never had an issue with them on wet roads either. I can't speak to snow performance, though. I live in deep south Tx.
I have been running the nitto ridge grapplers for the past 65k miles. They are, imo, not as loud as you would think and definitely have given me some amazing performance.they’ve only really gotten loud in that last few thousand miles when the tread was really worn down.
The best tire I have found is Nitto Grappler A/T. The set I’m on now has 77,000+ miles on them and I’m expecting to reach between 80 to 85.
I have the Quatrac Pro on my Mercedes E Class. I like the ride and handling and haven't noticed any noise in the time that I have had them.
Nitto (Toyo sister company) makes the Recon Grappler in some large SL rated sizes and they remain light at 40-50#s.
I can say that I really like my Hypertrac All Seasons. I would absolutely buy another set of Vredesteins that review/test well.
They're gonna be good tires. Vredestein has been moving toward the high end market and it looks like they're trying to make a statement with this one, judging by the reviews. I'd say go for them! Honestly if I had heard about these when I was shopping I'd have bought them.
I burned through 2 sets of tires this same way! Was going about 70 on he fwy one morning and a large strip decided it had enough. was flopping around the wheel well and was super loud.
NT05 isn't great. And I hate the 555's - the orig were cheap and OK but the G2 is worse, you can do better with Firestone Indy 500's or Continental ExtremeContact both are about 300TW.
