AWD with winter tires is like a cheat code for winter driving. I used Nokian Hakkas on my old Audi and it made winter driving actually fun and enjoyable.

Nokian Hakkapeliitas for me. Studded tires are the bomb when weather goes to poop. My Chevy Cruze beater out performs my husband\u2019s F-150 with 4x4 and all-weathers.
We got the Nokian hakka studded ones put in this year and it is AMAZING how much better they are than our old Firestone winter tires.
Try Limitless Tire. They're pretty reputable for branded tires. Got my Nokian Hakkapeliitta from them.

Do your self a favor and buy a good set of studded snow tires, like Nokian Hakkapellitta’s for this drive. They’ll definitely save you some misery, and help keep you safe
I’m a novice driver that has a total of 3 HPDE days on this set of tires. 2000 S2000, Nankang AR1 255 rear and 225 front. I had it aligned last year, with 1/4” toe in as per specs and most recommendations for the AP1 S2K. As you can see, my front tires have minimal wear compared to the rears. On track the lack of rear grip vs front is quite noticeable. There isn’t any wheel spin out of corners, the rear is just loose and twitchy in mid-high speed corners. I’m wondering if that’s why the rear wear is so much higher.
i purchased 4 nokia tires in july of 2024. by june of 2025 the tires are completely bald. i bought a good tire rated to 80,000 miles and have them rotated and balanced every other oil change. in my entire life i never seen a tire wear down so fast.
