Nokian hakkapeliitta r5s on the crosstrek made easy work
AWD with winter tires is like a cheat code for winter driving. I used Nokian Hakkas on my old Audi and it made winter driving actually fun and enjoyable.
Moved here from Ontario last month and bought my first pair of proper winter tires, studded Nokian Hakkas. Legit night and day difference from the all seasons I had before on my AWD Outback
Studded Nokians beat everything. I\u2019ll never buy anything else! But the Michelins are a great tire.
Nokian Hakkapeliitas for me. Studded tires are the bomb when weather goes to poop. My Chevy Cruze beater out performs my husband\u2019s F-150 with 4x4 and all-weathers.
We got the Nokian hakka studded ones put in this year and it is AMAZING how much better they are than our old Firestone winter tires.
Try Limitless Tire. They're pretty reputable for branded tires. Got my Nokian Hakkapeliitta from them.
I run the Nokians from this video and have been happy with them.
Some tires are made in China and some possibly(?) better ones are made Vietnam, while made in Korea tires usually aren't bad, but may not last as long as expensive tires. For safety, I wouldn't go too cheap on tires. Many cheap tires have rather poor traction when new and become unsafe with only a few miles of wear on them. The Chinese tires often are made of very hard rubber, which might wear well, but has poor traction. There may be some in between tires made in the Philippines, but I'd avoid them. Kumho is a Korean tire company with majority Chinese ownership by a Chinese tire company. They make Phantom tires, likely in China, but even in Korea, they would be the low end. Hankook tires are "better" Korean tires. Not the best, but seem safer. I'd check tire reviews on the Internet.
I had nokian wrg4 all weather and I wouldnt buy them again I find them to wear out fast.
