Tires OEM BMW or Laufenn
"LAUFENN S Fit AS" is my favorite for my M3. This is a subsidiary of Hancook.
Since I can't get Michelins in the sizes I run anymore, I've switched to Laufenn (by Hancook). It's German for "runner", they are inexpensive and initial performance is excellent.
I use laufen all season high performance and they have worked great
Something more cost savings are the Laufenn tires (made by Hankook) great “budget” tires!
HD thrust arms are an improvement without too much sacrifice. Better shocks as well. I’ve found tires make a huge difference with the E39.
Narrow, low-profile tires aren't as forgiving over potholes, especially when riding on the 20" wheels.
That being said the tires are Laufenn S Fit AS. I must say after 2k miles on them I actually think they are great tires so far.
They’re a mid tier tire brand. They’re not the best nor the worst. However, if you want a better recommendation that’s mid tier but in my opinion a lot better, get Laufenn tires.
I have a st of Laufenns on my old beater Outback. So far, they seem to be ok for routine commuting. Are they performance tires? Heck no, but they do what I need them to do on dry roads and wet ones.
I checked my car tires and they are Laufenn. My ride quality is quite bumpy and shaky.
