Tires OEM Mazda or SUMITOMO
I got about 30k miles on sumitomos 285/75/16 snow rated, AT. They’ve been solid
I got sumitomo on mine. Quite. Great on all things wet including light snow.
I got Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires put on my car last October. I live in Wisconsin and am frequently in NW Wisconsin/MN/SD. They were great for me last winter and are pretty quiet during the summer and solid in the rain. I’ve put over 25k miles on them in a year and still no complaints and limited wear. They were a middle-lower cost option when I bought them on Tire Rack and installed for free at Discount Tire. I’ll probably buy them again. I’ve heard they’re a little soft and wear fast though? That’s not been my experience yet but just what I’ve read.
I also swapped the stock tires for A/T tires, mostly for the looks, but they actually helped in sand and rough surfaces.
I have the Sumitomo Encounter AT's on my frontier. Good reasonably priced tire.
Sumitomo HTR A/S PO3s have been able to handle anything that comes our way.
Reviews say its major shortcoming is that it generates a lot of loud noise.
I daily drive with the Sumitomos they are alright in the dry but I do find they aren't as good in the wet. They do feel pretty predictable when driving hard and the tire wear isn't too bad.
I've noticed that tires go fairly quick on my Mazda3
I club race an NA Miata and I'm $40k in before you count recurring costs like tires, fuel, entry fees, etc. Its an expensive sport!
