Tires OEM Toyota or GISLAVED
Had them on our Pilot a few years back. Loved them. I would purchase again.
I had a very good experience with the Gislaved Nordfrost 100s. They were fairly priced, they have a crazy amount of tread for a tire, and their performance was very good.
Gislaved Nord Frost 200 factory studded tires.
I had Conti Vikingcontacts and those were great. Also, they are hard to find, but Conti owns a company called Gislaved tires who make outstanding winter compounds. They are from Sweden and engineered specifically for Scandinavian, Canadian, and Russian winters.
Mine is so great in the city, can whip a U-turn anywhere and gets 30-35 MPG no matter how you drive it. I am kind of sad you can't get cars like this anymore, but it is kind of hard to justify when something that's an order of magnitude more refined is only like $1500 more. But there is something fun about ripping around in something 153" long that only weighs 2300 lbs. It never needs brakes and doesn't eat up tires no matter how "spiritedly" I drive.
Gislaved tires. They are studded from the factory and made by Continental. They are at least 30% less cost than Nokians and nearly as good. I have had both and will buy the Gislaveds every time.
I use gislaved winter tires on my A4 and they have worked well for high speed highway driving and also wet winter roads. Full confidence in snowy conditions. I am going with the same on the OB.
I drive a Prius and it handles fine in winter. Although it burns more fuel during winter because of the heating. Only thing I would strongly suggest is getting a quality set of winter tires. Only time it struggled was getting up that steep incline on King Edward after Rideau on glare ice..during rush hour. I still made it just fine while other gas powered cars were spinning their wheels.
Gislaved snow tires from Sweden. I've been driving 35 years and never felt so good!
Lol, zero grip on dry pavement? They aren’t the best tires, but I really didn’t have any major complaints after 35k miles and ended up buying a second set of brand new take-offs to replace them.
