Tires Pirelli or Cooper
I got the same tires on my 2-door mk7 GTI. I think the tires are great but they were vibrating on the freeway so i had the deal check the balance and two of them were slightly out of balance. Rebalanced and so far so good.
I've been exceptionally happy with the Cooper RS3 tires on my Focus - I'd take a serious look for your car. They are sticky, quiet and good in the rain.
I am in St. John's, Newfoundland and have Cooper Weather-Master WSC in a 235/55r17. I didn't stud them and they are excellent.
I have Pirelli's on our van and am much happier with them than I am with my Michelin's on my Golf. The Pirelli's are much much better in all conditions.
Got supercorsas on my Daytona. Never ever lost grip and I've had knee toe and peg down. Amazingly sticky tyres
I notice some of the new GTIs at my dealer are coming with pirelli P7 tires vs the P zero. P7s are grand touring tires. I have them on my car and handle and ride great and theyll hopefully last longer than usual. Theyre cheaper than Mich. too. Ive bought cheap tires, mid range tires and expensive tires before and the P7s seem to be the best so far. Id recommend them. Plus, Ive purchased p zeros before and dont remember them being all that great. I am very happy with the p7 grand touring tire so far. very quiet and smooth.
Just replaced the crappy Bridgestones at 37k miles with Cooper CS4 touring, very nice and stable ride, excellent in wet and a good looking tire to boot.
The P Zero Neros were not that great in snow, so unless the Falkens are spinning in thier tracks I can't imagine a great improvement there.
My Pirellis got very noisy at 20K and were badly cupped by 30K. I wouldn't recommend replacing them with another set of the same tire.
the stock P-Zero Neros are garbage. I've replaced all 4 of mine. I have two of them with a decent amount of tread sitting outside because I couldn't bring myself to toss them, but they really suck.
