Tires Pirelli or NANKANG
I’ve been happy with the Pirelli’s easy to mount and good puncture protection while feeling fast.
I run the pirellis p zero 4s and love them comfortable and roll really well.
Opposite datapoint: I run Pirelli Race TL Rs 700x30s on my Gen 7 Madone (tubeless FWIW). Way more comfy than the OE 25s (R3) and faster.
If you want fast and durable, Look at Pirelli Cinturato Velo.
The new UHP tires on the block: Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3.
Tire rack as well as Tyre reviews put themselves above the DWS06.
PS4 AS FTW. 166k miles on my GLI (bought it new) and after couple sets of Pirelli Cinturato P7s… it’s a brand new car again. Unbelievable.
My subjective experience is that GP 5000 S TR 28 feel great and are light but they're not very durable. I feel like my Pirelli Pro Race TLR 28 last twice as long but feel a tad heavier.
My rear is the Pirelli mt66 and 12.5 lbs. negated that with 54 tooth sprocket. Still lost a few miles. 45 down to about 35 but the acceleration was recovered but still not as punchy.
Had Pirelli P Zeros on my RS3, all 4 began cracking (3/4 years old). Purchased 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres today, haven’t tested them in anger yet. Had them on my Mustang, managed to avoid putting it up a tree or into a crowd with the shitty UK weather.
Mine got Hard and Loud (title of my sex tape). Annnnyway... I replaced them with the Pirelli Scorpions and now I can actually hear the radio at low volumes. :)
