Tires SUMITOMO or GENERAL TIRE
I went with Solar 4XS+ available from Walmart. They are manufactured by Sumitomo tires. These came in really cheap at $350 for all 4 tires including lifetime balance and rotation and road hazard warranty at Walmart. These are 89 H rated, so a bit soft which cut down the road noise a lot compared to my previous Bridgestone Ecopia. Efficiency is the same as the Ecopias at 4.3 mi/kwh but they ride smooth and quiet.
I have General G-Max AS05's on my BMW. They are an all-season performance tire. I like them. Less expensive than most.
For a little more money the Altimax RT45 from General (owned by Continental) is actually an exceptional tire, that's what I have on my Crown Victoria, my dad's Camry, and my stepmom's Sonata. It's probably the best thing you can buy for the money
Altimax is a great tire. Have it on the kids car and performs great during the summer and in the winter in snow and ice.
General Grabber ATXs are awesome. I’ve had them in 37x12.5 for 40k miles on my gladiator and they are still going strong, and I’ve wheeled on dry rocks in Moab, snowy rocks in Moab, wet rocks and mud in Arkansas, and dusty rocky central TX.
My favorite so far has been the General Grabber ATX. I will say I've used them in Alaska (lasted 4 full years up there), Arkansas, and Louisiana.
these Sumitomo HTR Enhance WX2 have been solid and cheaper than Michelins
I had the PS4S for 3 summers and just got the G-Max RS this summer. Grip wise they seem to be a little better than the top tier all-seasons, but behind the top tier summers, which I expected. They still feel competent on my Stage 2 car.
I have put on general grabber hts tires on my 09 tahoe. Has anyone had a problem with excessive noise and or even a slight whine when cold and going down the road? Drive for 30 minutes and the whine goes mostly away but not 100%.
The only tire brand I never liked was Sumitomo. They were always much narrower than spec and seemed to loose grip when you needed it most.
