Tires Toyo or Continental
I had 225/40 R18 on mine last Winter and had no issues with it. Tires were Conti's WinterContact TS870. I was very happy with those tires. We got some pretty sewere snow last year and my R pushed through like nothing.
I run 225/40 R18 Continental ContiWinterContact TS 830 P
We got conti vikingcontact 7. They've been fantastic. They were much cheaper than the Michelin's which I hear mixed reviews of.
No change in noise vs stock tires, feel like more lateral grip. We average only 1kwh/100km more on the winters vs all seasons (but it was also much colder when they were on for so I don't think they lost much efficiency).
1600 miles later after a TN road trip and I love these Contis. Quiet, excellent rain performance and good in the curves. We had two emergency stops and these things stuck like glue.
Toyo opencountry CTs all day I have 100,000 on my current set and still will last another summer, they are definitely in the upper end of price but they last and they are great in the snow/ice
I got a blow out on a pothole, Toyota towed car, i had to drive to a dealer myself to buy a Toyo and drive it where my car was, and that got me on the road
I replaced the run flats with Continental Sure Grip right of the rip. World of difference in ride.
Continental extreme contact I think is what my bf has on his little Audi sedan, and we got thru last winters blizzard with ease. All I know is they are hard to squeal cause they won’t slide!
Toyo gives then a 2.5 / 5 rating in the snow.
The R888Rs are a terrible autocross tire, slower than the Super 200s and actually illegal for most street classes. If you are running in a class that allows R-comps, Hoosier A7s will be legal and are in another universe than the R888Rs in terms of grip.
