Tires Toyo or Pirelli
Swapped them out at about 30K kilometers. Tread still had a lot of life but holy man were they bad tires. Slipping all over the place, rough on the road, trash quality all around. Put on Pirelli Scorpion AS plus 3s. Amazing difference - feels like im now driving the car it should have been this whole time. I love these new tires - quiet and comfortable as hell, absolutely no slipping wet or dry, and excellent cornering.
I have them on a non-turbo CX-5. I'm in San Diego, so a very different climate, and less than 10k on the tires now. But very good so far, I think quieter than the stock tires and good grip. Haven't noticed them wearing out quickly so far.
I have the Pirellis on my CX-5 and I have the Cross-Climates on another SUV. My driving is "spirited" and I haven't noticed a wear issue on either. The Pirellis corner like you're on rails, so it's a great driving experience.
Highly recommend the Pirelli’s, have em, love em. Very quiet ride especially compared to the Toyos.
put these on my Mazda CX5 last year. Vehicle immediately felt sturdier (compared to the stock Toyos). I've driven in the snow and ice, mud, dirt, pavement and the tires are great.
For tires, I got the Pirelli P-Zero AS+3 tires for my GLI and they are really good. They beat the DWS06 tires in Tirerack and Tyre Reviews testing.
FWIW I'm just now replacing my oem toyo tires with 33k miles on the odometer.
I don't necessarily think the tires are bad, however there are way better options available. I've not lost grip on mines, or had any trouble with it, but the Pirelli and Michelin tires are just better in my opinion.
Just paid $540 for one 21” Pirelli tire from “Discount” Tire ????
Pirelli tires are always garbage. Bought a new car with Pirellis on it. They're defective and have lemon sized bulges sticking out the sides after only 1000 miles. Went online and found even dealerships when they get the replacements find out the replacements are defective. DON'T BUY PIRELLI!
