Tires YOKOHAMA or Nokia
My Yokohama YK-CTX’s have lasted over a year and still look new. Lots or highway mileage and city mixed in.
I have Nokian R3 on the Sportwagen and Michelin X-Ice Snow (OEM) on the V60 here in Canada. Once I need to change, will likely go with Nokian. More quiet, comfortable and better on deeper snow.
I have the r5s on my xc60, best winter tires I’ve ever had.
I have Nokian Snowproof 2s on mine, and they're really good.
I have Nokian Hakkapelitta 9 on my Volvo and they’re great.
I loved my Nokian Winter tires on my old 3000 GT VR4. That thing was unstoppable. They are noisy on dry roads though.
I have the Yokohama Geolandar CVG058 on my Hyundai Tucson. These are great and extremely quiet.
I've been really happy with the Nokian Encompass AW01s on my Volt though. They are an all weather 3MP rated tire that's been very good to us
The only set of tires I have not had the best experience with are the Nokian Entyre 2.0's on my wife's Acura TLX. I feel like as they've worn, the noise in the cabin has been quite a bit louder and there is quite a bit of cracking in the sidewall/tread area. Otherwise, they have been fantastic in the wet.
No experience with the Continentals but I really did not like the Nokians. I bought them because they seemed to be well-reviewed, they were only marginally better than the Nexens in terms of traction yet they were a decent bit louder. Despite having plenty of tread left after 35k miles I replaced them with Michelin Primacy Tour and they’re so much quieter and the traction is much improved. I had a friend who is a frequent passenger in my car comment on how much quieter it was completely unprompted the first time he rode in the car after getting the Michelins. The Nokians were loud from the beginning and traction in wet conditions decreased rapidly as they aged.
