Tires YOKOHAMA or OEM Honda
Now have the Yokohama Geolanders and certainly believe they're a better tire.
2012 MK6 GTI: Continental ExtremeContact Sport - Replaced with Continental Control Contact Sport SRS+ - Replaced with Yokohama Advan Apex (Best summer tire other than PS4S)
We went with Yokohama AVID Ascend GTs as replacement. They're 5 year 65K warranty tires.
I have never even heard about this brand. I got Yokohama for summer and Bridgestone for winter and they work in wet conditions
I’m 1 month in on my first set of Geolandar AT’s and have had snow up in northern AB for a couple of weeks. Initial observations: love them! They are quieter than either the KO2 or Duratrac. I haven’t noticed any improvement in fuel economy. On snow and ice covered roads though, my early observation is they outperform the other tires I’ve used. All in all, they are meeting my relatively high expectations for them so far.
I had the Geolandars on my 4wd Tacoma when I lived in Alaska. I never got snow tires during winter because I thought I’d be good enough with the Geos. They worked well enough for me, although a couple of times I did slip. Nothing major. I just ended up using my brakes further away from my intended stopping point. In the rain they worked great, never had an issue. Versatile tire without the price point of BFG. Also, the ride on dry highways wasn’t loud and obnoxious, smooth ride imo.
Blizzaks are probably the best but I've heard they can wear fast. The Yokohama iceguard worked well for me as well.
Yoko N905 served me wonderfully in the Italian alps. Have a small fwd turbo A1. Got up some mountain passes where big 4x4s struggled without chains
Just got them replaced with Yokohamas this week and got a similar warranty refund on them. It’s absurd that they only made it to 10K miles, but I love the car so much I’m not complaining much about it.
I found them to be pretty garbage for traction even on dry pavement, but they were quiet and smooth and lasted very well.
