Water pump AISIN or OEM Volkswagen
I've had my mk6 for 5 years and driven it 50,000 miles (total 130,000) on the same water pump.
There’s a really good kit that come with gates timing belt, tensioner, idler, Aisin water pump, Toyota cam and crank seals and a serpentine belt for $350 I used it and everything has worked perfectly
You should be fine with the Aisin. They were the OE manufacturer for a lot of makes.
60k on my mk7r, hasn't needed anything but maintenance. Water pumps were a known issue on early mk7 but from my understanding have been resolved in new part revisions with upgraded metal internals.
Yeah I bought the water pump assembly from the dealer that came with the thermostat installed.
I have VW 2.0T in my GTI, it has been trouble free for 35k miles so far. Not sure how much different is Audi 2.0T from VW 2.0T, but leaking water pumps / thermostat housings are weak spots on all of them and you can almost be sure on replacing those at some point.
Only main issues I saw were leaking vacuum pumps, valve cover gaskets, pcv leaks (whole valve cover assembly) and water pump sepage.
I joined the water pump failure club this week in my 2013 GTI. Got lucky and they happened to have one sitting around the dealer...
Had the first water pump replaced 02/13. The coolant warning light went on this week so I made an appointment with my dealer. 25k and on the 2nd replacement water pump.
I just had my secondary water pump replaced a month ago. Yesterday I found a huge puddle of coolant in my driveway. Off to the VW dealer again. This time it's the water pump.
