Windshield OEM Volkswagen or CARGLASS
I had some stuff done, added a couple of things, and washed my 2010 MK6 Golf TDI (manual) with 205K miles. New windshield - OEM VW from Safelite - replaced severely pitted original windshield after 200K+ miles It feels very good driving my clean car with the new bits!
18 months in and 57k of highway driving (knock on wood) I haven't had any issues with the windshield. I live in Florida, and have the 2022 Pro S RWD.
Had my Tiguan for 3 years with no issues. Never had anything hit my windshield.
I got my windshield repaired 2 weeks ago in switzerland and you can still see the dent, it looks like a small hole and the guy from Carglass said that its normal it stays like this, they dont replace the whole windshield when its a small dent, they repair it instead
The original glass in my Alltrack had small pits within months, even ended up with scratch marks from the ice scrapper. Had to get the windshield replaced a couple of years ago and they installed non OEM glass - still good as new.
Full replacement in October and 3 star chips filled this month. The replacement was a nightmare, they ordered OEM, but didn't realize there are different windshields for different trim levels until they'd installed it and couldn't connect the rearview mirror. Can't say its a defect since it was a decent sized gravel each time while driving 75.
in the last 13 months of owning an ID.4 I've had 4 cracks, 2 requiring replacement. All cracks have been with OEM VW glass installed at the dealer. I'm at the point where I'm afraid my insurance will drop me if I make any more claims.
I’ve had 3 windshields replaced. My current windshield is now chipped in 2 spots. I’ve given up.
Just have a couple rock chips now in my windshield, one is quite bad. Luckily, they haven’t cracked yet but I did have to replace my windshield earlier this year.
