Windshield OEM Volkswagen or CARGLASS
I’ve had my 2018 for over two years and have taken some serious hits on the windshield from gravel and have been surprised it hasn’t cracked.
I've got a big rock chip on mine I've been waiting for six months to spread and it won't.
almost 4 years under my belt in this car only one crack (sustained in what can only be described as windshield death valley on I-80 in WY)
Figured I should close out this thread by saying I did order the windshield after spending some time with the dealer and their computer. They told me no returns on it if I am wrong about it being the windshield. So $975 (before install costs) later it came in this week and is indeed the windshield.
Yes. My wife and I purposely drive far behind other vehicles to avoid rock chips AND STILL we have a few chips on the windshield at 7000 miles. Frustrating but that's just how it is now.
I actually just had my glass replaced today. The bill on my invoice was $760.00. It did not seem like it was OEM glass though I could have sworn the the old glass had a VW logo on the glass, and on the new glass I do not see any logos.
cracked the windshield right away must be junk
on windshield #2 after tractor kicked up gravel from side of highway. Was surprised as I never had that experience after driving many cars for decades.
I have gone through THREE windshields since January 2023! I tend to think that it’s the height angle of the windshield
I’ve had to replace 2 windshields, both times from rocks kicking up. I’ve had other vehicles for years and years and never had to replace a windshield. So maybe there’s just a higher percentage of bad luck when you own a Tiguan?
