I had mine replaced... took a good sized rock to the windshield on our Premium trim PHEV. (Heads up display, lane monitoring, ect.) The smashed middle of the damage made repair a no go.
I did it through Safelite and they used an OEM because there was no aftermarket available. Glass Only Repair Insurance saved us $2,000.00 out of pocket after glass, install and recalibration.
Pros: OEM available, insurance savings
Cons: rock damage, repair impossible

Had to have our Tesla windshield replaced last year, but it’s good as new.
Pros: good as new
I have had 1 small chip in my 2013 Mazda 3. It happened in a construction zone and I was able to get it into safelite that same day and had the chip fixed within an hour. That one has stayed pretty good, but it is noticeable.
Pros: repair held well

Garbage. I got scratches from scratching ice of the windshield in my first year. Even my old Renault Clio hadn't had this sh1t of quality in it's windshield.

When I had my CX-5, I've never had so many cracks in my windshield as I did with this car. Constant cracks, chips... I've never seen anything like it. I've been driving for 40 years and this was the first and only vehicle which always suffered cracks and chips.

weak glass from my similar experience. I will say I have less bad luck with the 3 Hondas and they get more miles on the same roads.

So on our 2019 we are now on our second replacement windshield. The first one was NOT OEM and we could tell. The HUD was fuzzy with a second mirrored image behind it, the lane detection was not as good, and in bright head on sunlight all the safety features would shut off due to the glare.

Cons: HUD fuzzy, glare issues

The optical quality of the Mazda branded glass is absolute trash. Major waves looking to the right and straight ahead is like looking at distance through reading glasses. This Mazda stamped glass is so bad it's a safety issue. Additionally, there were issues getting the camera calibrated; the lane keeping basically didn't work at all after replacement and is still not 100%.
Cons: poor optical quality, major waves, calibration issues, safety concern

I've had many cars before my 2022 Cx-30 and this windshield has cracked/chipped 3 times in less than 1 year. All the chips happened at low speed, which I have never seen on my other cars. I'm not impressed.
