I switched to Mobil1 synthetic. The factory fill oil is 0w30. I replaced it with Mobil1 0w40, it complies with all of the specifications, and is not that expensive.
Reviews of spare parts for Audi
I've been using Amsoil on my '02 A4 1.8T. Converted it over as soon as I could b/c that little hamster gets hot during the long summers around here. Car doesn't burn a drop of oil, of coure it has only 29k on it.
Just from the way it goes \"clunk\" when you tap it with a hammer or set it on the ground I can tell it is stiffer.
I put on new Brembo slotted rotors up front. Ferodo DS2000 fast road pads all around.
I am using Castrol 0w-30 Synthetic. The Castrol distribuitor here in my country has a Audi A4 and he recomend to use 0w-30 synthetic. This oil meet VW specs. My dealer also recomend the same.
FWIW, I had 225/45R17 Nokian Hakkas on my 2001 TT Roadster, and I had absolutely no problems on hard-packed snow or loose, slushy wet snow. I distinctly remember leaving a big, jacked-up Jeep with all-terrain tires in my wake at a stop light in about 8 inches of unplowed snow!
Brembo's latest big brake kit with 1-piece rotor comes with powerful 4 piston calipers, carriers, stainless braided brake lines, option of race or street pads, and 13" Brembo race rotors! Calipers colors are available in black, red or silver. These rotors have directional veins and are either available in cross-drilled or slotted options. The 13" 1-piece rotor can absorb and dissipate much more heat without warping than most 2-piece rotors. Using Goodridge DOT approved brake lines for solid pedal feel you have your choice of pads for street, autocross, or race at no extra charge. Believe it or not the Brembo 1-piece kit is still lighter than the factory brakes!
also, bang for the buck...a pair of used S4 brakes do the job for street driving that's what i'm running and it's marked improvement over the crappy stock brakes.
So what pads are you using with the Brembos? Was it $320 for four discs?
If you want an honest oppinion, do not run these brakes, just get yourself a corrado set up w/ good pads and you will be more than happy.
