I had stock pirellis on my S4 (yeah I realize this is a Porsche sub). Switched to Michelin PS4s and never went back. Very noticeable difference in quality, grip, performance, quietness, and smoothness. They lasted a bit longer than the Pirellis too.
Reviews of spare parts for Audi
I replaced them with Continentals. I love Continentals. I’ve always had great luck with them on my Audis, which tended to chew up tires in short order.
Don't have experience with RS models, but we've used Textar brand rotors and pads for our Q5 twice and they're fantastic. Textar is an OEM supplier to Audi. The last set lasted us 90k Km and the bite/behaviour was the same as the original brakes.
If you want more braking performance but don't mind the extra dust, the EBC Yellowstuff pads are my favorite street pad.
I've got the rs5 with ceramic front brakes, I'm looking to get the pads replaced, back ones are 100 for a genuine set, but front ones are nearly 1000 for a genuine set?! I inspect my front pads and see they are made by brembo and have audi branding on it. A little bit a research and I find OE equivalent pads from brembo for only 240. They felt the exact same to me on the track.
Does your local shop carry Pilkington? That’s a good OE brand that Audi used throughout the years, I think. Pilkington is a supplier for Mercedes too. I’ve had them in my cars and haven’t had any issues.
My twin turbo A6 came with pirelli summer tires. They are great but wear out fairly quickly
In my experience, Pirelli tires I've used have had above average performance in their category but really subpar tread life compared to its competitors which has really turned me off on the brand.
Why do Audi’s burn through so much oil? One thing I don’t miss about my 2019 Q7 is the constant adding quarters of oil throughout the year.
Yes Monroe are junk. Anything Tenneco touches usually becomes junk. Monroe started coming OE on Audi in the last couple years and I am seeing them fail in as little as 15,000 miles.
