I remember the first time I did anything besides oil, it was spark plugs and power steering fluid on my old accord. Starting it up after had me nervous, second guessing everything I did.
Reviews of spare parts for Honda
My 2009 CR-V that my daughter drives as a hand-me-down needed new tires. I saw a few recommendations for the Michelin Defender as a good, quiet CR-V tire. I had them installed and *wow* - so much quieter than the stock continentals that were on it. Huge difference in the amount of cabin noise coming up from the road.
When I first started autocross, I was on mismatched all seasons with different tires all around. A local autocrosser with old tires took pity on me and gifted me a set of used Toyo Proxes R1R he didn't need any more. Mind. Blown.
Went from some random all seasons that the prior owner had, to Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Now I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.
The Honda thermostat opened probably 50% more than the aftermarket, so lesson learned there.
I couldn’t find a similar sized non-OEM filter, so I went OEM there too. But also, before you buy the cabin filter, try vacuuming the one that is in there. If you can get it pretty clean then don’t worry about a new one for another few thousand miles.
I got falken sincera tires for my 15 fit and 13 Yaris. No issuues and they were cheap and high mileage rated. I recall on my Yaris they took a little getting used to as the sidewalls seemed to have more play but with the Honda they felt just like the ones that came new with my car.
I bought some new Michelin Guardian Hybrid wiper blades the other day at Costco. The passenger side blade works perfectly however the blade on the drivers side it seems the tip of it (8-10 inches or so) is not making contact with the windshield. It leaves a triangle shape at the bottom center of the windshield and it also doesn't clear off other water that it should be clearing from the passenger blade so it just runs down. I am 99% sure I have the right size for my 07 Accord - Driver side 26 & passenger 18.
CMBS cameras not properly calibrated since windshield replacement. Dealer believes glass marked “Honda” will fix calibration issue because “there is too much metal” in the Pilkington glass.
As hard as I've tried I really just don't like the CVT at all. It's very unrefined and herky-jerky under hard acceleration and it reminds me of what it's like to drive a power boat. Just two gears...one forward and one backward. It does have simulated gear shifts (it's supposed to mimic a 7-speed transmission) but at the end of the day I just don't like it. This was my first AND LAST car with a CVT.
