Must do, the WJ knuckle swap with Akebono calipers. Teves calipers are junk, and the factory XJ calipers are freakin worse!
Reviews of spare parts for Jeep
the falken Wildpeak AT3W’s added that extra touch. They’re quiet and have great traction.
I personally like Falken Wildpeak AT3s. Haven't got them on my XJ yet but they've done great for on and off-road driving. I've had them on a JK, Ranger, Sierra 1500, and my work van.
Recently I began having trouble with my starter. With a healthy battery, the starter was struggling to turn the motor over. Upon determining that the starter was in fact the problem, I decided to crack it open. What I found was that the brushes were worn down unevenly...The difference is incredible. It's now apparent to me that, even before I noticed my starter struggling, it had been getting slower and weaker for a long time. The rebuilt starter is incredibly energetic, and given that the brushes are the only wear part, it's not much of a stretch to say that it is now like-new.
Next Up Bilstein 5100 shocks (In the mail) Bilstein Steering Damper (In the mail)
Went ahead and swapped out the factory fill oil after a few hundred miles. I heard they use a synthetic blend so it had to go. Went with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-20 and a Wix HD filter. Oil changes are so easy on these.
Jeep Wranglers. And Jesus fucking Christ is it loud when you catch a rock doing 75 on the interstate! It scared the shit out of me the first time.
2010 Wrangler Rubicon. The clock spring in the steering wheel went out. Moisture had gotten in, so it needed replacing. Several hundred dollars later I was good to go. A month after that Jeep put out a recall on the clock springs for moisture and offered free replacement. My dealer and I both contacted Jeep to try and get a refund, but they refused.
I had them on my JKU when I bought it. I drove the Jeep home and to the tire shop two days later to replace them with Toyos. Extremely overpriced tire for the ride quality and handling.
I usually run the Duralasts just because AutoZone is everywhere and I usually get it replaced twice before the warranty runs out - Phoenix is brutal on batteries.
