I think the Conti's are probably the best in the price range for wet/dry grip, as I live in an area with a lot of rain I would go with those myself.
Reviews of spare parts for Mazda
I used this OEM Mazda "value" clutch kit last fall and it's awesome. Apparently is Exedy and is slightly stronger than stock.
I've got the Pirelli P7 (P Zero doesn't come in my size) and it's been pretty great. Amazing wet grip, really helps in the Pac NW. No issues with cooler temps, although they're just okay on snow and ice. Can't speak to treadwear yet, they're still pretty new.
Those Pirellis consistently test among the best UHP tires money can buy. Expect around 30% longer tread life than the Firestones, however, even the latter should last at least 50k km.
Rx-8 in 3years just did maintence and ned sparkplugs 0 problems.
0w20 Mobil one synthetic and Mobil one filter since 50,000 km to now 205,000km on my 2014 mazda3. Engine runs great.
Eneos 5w-20 in my 2008 2.3 liter Mazda3. It's a Japanese-branded synthetic oil that you can get from Napa Auto. I've found that with Eneos, my Mz3 stops consuming any oil (in both my 2007 and 2008 2.3's).
I have the EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 from Continental. Treadlife, despite being a 560 tire, seems poor. Traction and cornering have been unreal. But I am not driving fast through corners often, mostly highway miles.
I will never, ever put another non OEM steering or suspension joint on the car again after having the cheap shit fail multiple times. It's so fucking bad I google searched miata moog ball joint and this is the first thing that pops up.
Those tires are complete total dogshit. I will never, ever put them on my car again. About 2K miles of good tires, and about 20K of greaseball bullshit.
