I have Micheline P4Ss on my 991.1 Carrera S and F90 M5 Competition and can without reservation they are better than the Pirellis they came with.
Get whatever the newest N-spec Michelin is available in your sizes/for your vehicle. Not a fan of the OEM Pirellis on the 991s and Michelin is much better all around.
Had the same issue with my 987.2 S, ended up upgrading to a GT3 master cylinder and brake ducts, giro disc rotors and RS29 pads. Obviously running decent brake fluid and change it regularly. It’s now great and can handle many laps of Oulton Park without fading.
Porsche just replaced my windshield based on the melting seal issue they had for some years. Mine is a 2022. New windshield, sensor calibration and seal look and work perfect.
No issues working on my 991.2. Changed the plugs, airfilter, etc myself.
I do all my own maintenance on my 991.1 and it’s surprisingly easy. Oil change is probably the easiest of any car I’ve ever owned and 40k service is pretty straightforward.
The manual trans is very reliable.
The pads work great, no fade for me at my skill level, even with a 40 minute session. Also work great on the street, with no noise or issues cold. However, I am using up about 70% of the pad in 2 hours of track driving. Particularly the rear pads, which are wearing noticeably quicker than the fronts.
The P-Zeros on my 991.2 are WAY too loud.
I replaced the gear oil in my 99 6-speed w/LSD using Mobil Delvac 75w90 about 300 miles ago and it seems notchier than before, especially before it’s warmed up.
