yep the OEM is weak af. I went to a local shop and paid $325 in Chicago. Works great, eyesight works perfectly, and glass is much stronger.

Falken Tires
Altruistic-Working37
Rating 4.0
 • Grip:
 • Ride comfort:

I purchased my set of Falken Wildpeaks A/T trails back in 2020 and since then used them on all sorts of terrain. They handled well, in snow, dirt and rain and on road manners were excellent. My only small complaint was the big drop in fuel economy (22 MPG average.). Well, they've been driven about 38k miles now since my Subaru Forester is used for our family road trips and the tires are down to 2/32nd of tread.

Pros: handled well, excellent manners
Cons: big drop in MPG
Mileage: 61155 km

BEN-SON Windshield
Agitatednunchuck
Rating 3.0
 • Chips/cracks:

They installed a Benson windshield which is a cheaper Chinese one but it couldn’t be much worse than the original Subaru one 🤷‍♂️. Had a couple pebbles hit it already and no issues.

Pros: no issues with pebbles
Cons: cheaper Chinese one

OEM Subaru CVT fluid
brt93
Rating 2.0
 • Noise:

At what point would you recommend to change CVT fluid in a 2018 Forester? A relative has one with 45k miles and it developed a quiet “howling” noise starting at around 50mph. It is not very loud and we cannot the if it’s coming from the CVT. It doesn’t go away when transmission is shifted into Neutral at that speed. Front and rear differential fluid has been replaced.

Cons: howling noise at 50mph
Vehicle: Subaru Forester
Mileage: 45000 km
