Put a new Bosch AGM in.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
There’s a rotor and pad combo I’ve used on our allroad 6MT, Escalade ESV & 07 Beetle Vert 3x White. Through trial & error we discovered the only way to keep the under braked 3T Escalade rotors from warping due to pad material buildup was to go countersunk gas slotted & x drilled rotors. They were added to the other vehicles because we found Bosch ceramic pads and the hot galvanized rotors will NOT rust. The Beetle has been running the same pads and rotors since ‘14. They’re silent, don’t leave dust and have amazing pedal feel when cold or hot. They also look new because they don’t rust. The last and unexpected benefit of these rotors is that they don’t fade from heat or water saturation.
brakes have been fantastic, albeit dusty, so might look into some different pads.
NGK all day, compared to all others they’re just made better, I bought Bosch platinum for a VW and the OE came out were NGK, after 50k they were still visually a better manufactured plug. Example- the plating on the Bosch threads was rougher.
I have used the 027 coil in a beetle with with points and the coil was getting hot. It was solved by using the 039 coil (Bosch grey).
I run liqui moly and hengst or Mann filters myself.
I run Castrol Edge 5W-30 with Mahle filters and no stabilazers since I don\u2019t trust that bullshit. Changes every 10,000km and she\u2019s still running beautifully with 205,000km on the clock

My son went to a local shop who used STP/Fram/K&N and collapsed the material inside the housing, and the motor gave him fits and lights.
I used a FRAM oil filter on the car at my last oil change and it turns out it collapsed internally triggering a low engine oil pressure to my ECU. The garage (VW/Audi/Porsche specialized) told me to never use anything other than Mann filters on my GTI since everything else is either gonna collapse or be more expensive than the Mann for no added benefits.
