I have them on the MK5 GTI my son drives and will be swapping them onto my 2017 R. Love them for an all around tire.

Made a few sensible tweaks to this car immediately, at like 300 miles (nothing heavy), one of which was Akebono pads. Third VW I've had these on; they're great -- about as close to zero dust as I think you can get, seem to work a bit better and last a bit longer than the OEM pieces.

I have the R2 and actually just had to use them while my Prets were in the shop.
As far as driving on dry pavement goes, the R2s are great--very quiet, good economy (I lost maybe 1mpg?). Main drawback is that they are very soft and race mode with R2s feels like comfort mode with stock all-seasons.

KYB shocks front and rear, usual stuff like alternator, brakes, wheel bearings, coolant hoses, front end rebuild and fixing all kinds of electrical switches, lights and gauges that weren’t working. Just keeping up with systems that were failing.

I'm running PFR7Bs. I get a misfire or 3 here and there, only during low load low speed acceleration. I've got R8 coils too. Not sure if the RFD makes them occur any more frequently than they otherwise would, but I'm not worried about it.
