i just use liquimoly leichtlauf. really can't go wrong with it.

liqui moly Leichtlauf 5w40

10,000 mile intervals

2015 mk7 with 115k miles stage 1 EQT. oil analysis always comes back very positive at these intervals.

Pros: very positive oil analysis

Ran it for a few years in my 02 ALH with no issues.. supplied by my local VW certified (but not VW themselves) mechanics shop.

Pros: no issues

Have used Mobil 1 European formula 0w-40 and liquimoly molygen 5w-40 in my 2019 golf r without any issues. Molygen holds up great to the fuel shearing from ethanol I run.

Pros: holds up great

My 2012 Golf TDI with the DPF stuff states that it **MUST** have 507 00 5W30 spec diesel oil, not 505 00 or anything else.

Pros: proper spec oil

Cons: ridiculously expensive

I did my own oil/filter change at 27k mi with Mobil One European Formula 0W-40, since I'm a little uneasy about 10k intervals in So Ca stop and go traffic and 100+ F heat.

Pros: better oil change intervals

Cons: uneasy about intervals

I've been using 0W40 Euro Formula from Mobil 1 for years in both my cars. You will be fine running it.

I got some Castrol Edge Titanium FST 0W40 which is VW502 00 approved. I decided to try this oil as their name is on the oil filler cap, as in the past with other cars I always used Mobil 1 0W40.

Pros: VW502 00 approved

I put 5w40 in mine, that's what is recommended for mk6 at all temps. Summer or winter months. I use Castrol Edge Full Synthetic high mileage, works a charm.

Pros: works a charm
