Eventually i'll move to a Super Miata organic or the FM Happymeal, but the Exedy does the job, and the price cant be beat tbh
Reviews of Exedy parts For Business
Japan
Excedy is OEM. I have one in my turbo car and it works great
For 200-320 kW, we've had great success with the Exedy standard replacement kit + upgraded billet flywheel. It lets the disc use all its material without heat-sinking the flywheel which is common on oem flywheels, and we've fitted 100+ cars comfortably making 400 hp on stock gearboxes. customer feedback is the exedy standard replacement drives smooth like stock, holds power, keeps the driveline and gearbox together, shifts like butter at high rom, and has been super reliable.
Exedy Stage 1 upgrade; virtually same kit as OEM, except pressure plate is just a wee bit stronger than factory to help hold a tad bit more power (not that you'll need it, but it's a nice upgrade nonetheless); I personally liked the Exedy more for daily drivability
I have them in all my Toyota’s. They’re an excellent brand and manufactured in Japan.
55k miles on my exedy pro street clutch kit and luk flywheel in my 96 obs and still feels fantastic.
My post history shows that a year ago my flywheel splines got flattened due to the starter.. I replaced it with an EXEDY oem flywheel. Highly recommend ???? karma is a bitch ey.
This is normal. I'm running exedy clutch with their lightweight flywheel on my 2014 as well.
Just had an Exedy stage 1 kit installed on my GR86 a couple weeks ago, had the same concerns as well. It's definitely been less noticable as I've run through the break-in period, though it was happening fairly often the first few days. General consensus from what I could find is that it happens between 2000-3000 RPM, which is exactly what I've noticed driving my car.
I opted for a lightweight flywheel along with oem style exedy clutch. 1/10 don’t recommend lightweight flywheel. Seems such a small motor is constantly chugging at low speeds. It’s fun but it’s a neck breaker.
