Unless you're planning to boost it any time soon, I wouldn't bother getting anything other than the Exedy Stock clutch kit and flywheel. It's significantly cheaper and will do everything you need.
Reviews of Exedy parts For Business
Japan
The Exedy OEM replacement flywheel is a good part. My tuner recommends them and ive run one for years with no issues.
I use this kit for two seasons of autocross without an issue. I just replaced it with another six pack clutch and it showed no significant signs of wear. I thoroughly beat the crap out of it and I would assume it would have lasted quite a bit longer.
I use SouthBend stage 1 daily kit + Exedy flywheel on my boosted (350whp) build. Love it and have no complaints.
I got the Exedy clutch and bought the lightweight Exedy flywheel becasue the stock wasn't in stock, plus I dont mind trying a bit of a lighter flywheel for fun. Off rock auto.
I got the Exedy Oem Clutch kit + cast iron flywheel. I have about 2 thousand on the new clutch and it feels great
I replaced mine with the exedy and the lightweight flywheel. I would highly recommend.
I have a stock flywheel and kept vibration dampening. However, the Exedy Stage 1 is still noisy at times, noisier than stock.
The stage 1 grabs a bit more quickly and the pedal is heavier. (I've driven with a stage 1 exedy on a type s for about 20 years). With that being said, I don't think it's a huge difference in terms of actual real-world times of 0-60 or 0-100 times.
Be careful with the Exedy flywheel. The dowel pin could fall out and cause lots of damage. After it happened to me, I just removed the dowel pins after I bolted the clutch pressure plate down since they are only used to align it when you install the pressure plate. I didn't think the extra pedal effort of the Exedy stage 1 clutch was worth it and went back to OEM. Speaking of, the bearings that come with the Exedy clutch kits are now made in China and don't last that long, even though the other parts are made in Japan. I went OEM with the bearings (clutch release/throw out and pilot) this time around after I had to prematurely replace my clutch because of the bearings.
